Wedneday's Cephalic Version Results

We arrived at Christ hospital at about 2pm on Wednesday, October 20th. We were there to have a procedure done called a Cephalic Version. It's a procedure used in the attempt to move a breech baby into a more natural birthing position. In this case, our baby is frank breech(head up and butt down). If you'd like more information about the procedure, click here.

The procedure, which was attempted for all of about five minutes, was not a success. The doctor tried as best he could to move the little guy from his spot, but Logan was in a position that made it too difficult. Though the doctor was poking and prodding her belly like she's never felt before, Tina was strong and tough throughout the procedure. She did a wonderful job. Just as she's done through the whole pregnancy.

So unless we can get our son to move within the next week or so, Logan will arrive via C-section next Friday, October 29th. The appointment is for 9AM, so he should be seen for the first time about 5-10 minutes later. However, we are both a bit apprehensive about the surgery, so any thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

So now you know when the big day will be. We will probably have to let everyone know when a good time to come up is, if you planned on doing so. We will see what the docs say about visitation and stuff, and post another blog after our next appointment, which is Monday morning. Logan says "See you soon, everybody!"

While a C-section *is* surgery, I think likely the worse Tina has to look forward too is soreness at the insecion and nausea from the anesthesia. At least as far as Lisa recalls. After Logan is born there'll be plenty to worry about-- don't sweat the c-section. As our doctors said a scheduled sections is much better than an unplanned one.
